MSME Registration (Udyam)

MSME registration is a certificate provided to micro, small, medium-sized businesses in India under the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Act, 2006. MSME Stands for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises it facilitates development & promotion of enterprises through various benefits & schemes.  Most of the start up companies and other upcoming enterprises you see around you fall into the MSME category. Both the manufacturing as well as service enterprises are a part of the MSME. MSME is the backbone of the modern Indian economy and is considered as the growth engine for equitable and sustainable economic development of the country.

(MSME) are divided  into two classes:

1. Manufacturing Sector –

a). For Micro Enterprises–Investment in plant & Machinery Does not exceed 20 lakhs rupees.

b)-For Small Enterprises–Investment in plant & Machinery is more than 20 lakhs but does not exceed 5 crore rupees.

c)-For Medium Enterprises-Investment in plant & Machinery is more than 5 cr but doest not exceed 10 Crore rupees.

2.Services Sector-

a)-Micro Enterprises–Investment in equipment  is not more than 10 lakhs.

b)-Small Enterprises–Investment in equipment is more than 10 lakhs but not exceed 2crores.

c)-Medium Enterprises–Investment in equipment is more than two crores but not exceed 5 crores.

Documents Required For MSME Registration

  • Self-Attested PAN card copy.
  • Address proof issued by Government authority.(Like-DL/Voter card/Aadhar card).
  • Business address proof (Any One of Electricity Bill, Telephone Bill, Property, Gas Bill, Tax Bill).
  • Name & Nature of Business.
  • If Rented Business (Rent Agreement Copy) or if own (sell deed) and NOC from the Owner for Business.
  • Phone No. & Email Id to register with department.
  • Bank Details of Business.
  • Main Business Activities.
  • Number of employees working.
  • Investment in Plant & Machinery
